Willy Weepers

Nobody is ever just one thing.

Neither is Willowbrook.

There are kings and queens, barons and priests, but Willy Weepers takes the role of the Drag Jester.

The storyteller

The political commentator

All under the guise of a fool

Jazz-pop theatre-esque piano and vocals

With a tinge of madness

Willy Weepers at The Fool 2024 Shot by Irena Wilson
The Birth of Willy Weepers 2022

Who is Willy Weepers?

Willy Weepers began just about 5 years ago on a whim.

Before Willowbrook was Willowbrook (nor was
Willy yet named) and was just Melody Grace, they debuted their first Willy Weepers song—Call Me Crazy—Dressed as a clown.

It was merely for fun's sake, but it sparked something in that little fool soul that now burns a bright and bold flame.

The first-ever Clown Night took place in 2022 as a selfish excuse to force their friends to dress as clowns together, but it was to Willy’s surprise that there are MANY fools out there waiting for their chance to clown down too. Thus, it became an annual event!

Now, we’ve just wrapped up the forth year, and are already preparing for 2026, The Jester's Ball.

Willy was christened last Fall when it was brought to their attention that what they had been doing all along was, in fact, drag.

Now proudly a drag performer, composer, costume maker, and professional fool, Willy Weepers is taking their rightful place as your entertainer.

Clown Night is an annual event that takes place somewhere in Windsor, Ontario. It is a celebration of clowning- artistic prowess, unrestrained self-expression, authentic queerness, and unapologetic silliness. Clown attire is mandatory; if you show up without any semblance of clown you must pay a $5 fine at the door and will receive a dunce cap.

Every year displays the Clown Gallery, an art gallery of clown themed art submitted by local artists. There is live music performances, drag, face painting, and more! Every year it a little different, every year has a certain theme, but every year honours clowns just the same.

Past Events

August 12

@ Villains Coffin Club

Three Clowns Short of a Circus

The theme was: Circus This was the first ever Clown Night! The night featured performances from Joshua Bond, Kat Valentine, and Willy Weepers (Willowbrook). It had face painting from a professional clown, circus peanuts, It had a Clown Gallery as well which was a display of art submitted by local artists using the theme "Clown" or "Circus". Friends and folks I didn't know came and we hit capacity! A rule I've kept all 4 years, if you don't have a costume, you must pay a $5 fine and receive a dunce cap. The first event I ever put on was a success! We had to do it again.

2023

@ Meteor

Bozos and Barrelmen

The theme was: Rodeo Clowns The second year! We upgraded the venue to allow more people to attend and it sold out again! Since it was Halloween night, I waved the mandatory clowning and settled for mandatory costume of any kind, but the same rules still applied ($5 and a dunce cap).

2024

@ Meteor and Phog Lounge

The Fool

The theme was: The Fool Based on the first tarot card in the deck, it represents a young fool on his journey, taking steps freely into the unknown! This year, we took up Phog and Meteor at the same time! Meteor had live music, and Phog had drag performers and a DJ.

2025

November 28st

@Phog Lounge

The Phool's Lounge

The theme was: Cabaret The fools are tired. It's been a long year. This was a night of silly, costumes, drag, live music, and catharsis. Everyone boots'd the house down with their clown looks. The vibes were unmatched, the decorations committee went CRAZY with the stage design (thank you Kam). It was the year yet! Due to Willy Weepers being back in school full time, there was no time to arrange the gallery this year, but it's coming back next year!
